  What a lovely meal! We happened upon this pub for a late lunch and it was really excellent. A fantastic lunch menu, great selection of drinks and excellent service (especially Lily, who looked after us very well).

  Ate in the restaurant, had to send one of the starters back (brown lettuce) and service took an age. We were told the price of the starter would be taken off the bill, which amounted to one whole pound as it was part of the set menu. Very expensive, not great quality, won’t be going back.

  We dropped in for lunch after a long walk nearby with our dog. Greeted with a warm welcome from the staff, nothing was too much trouble. The interior is delightful and cosy. Good selection on the menu. We both had the open steak sandwich from the lunch menu and it was delicious. Dog friendly and geared up for dogs with a water and treat table which you can help yourself to. We can't wait to go back and would even consider staying over next time given the idyllic location.

  Extremely rude and unhelpful staff. The room was dirty, the bed was uncomfortable, the sinks were blocked and the toilets were filthy. The exterior of the hotel was also very poorly maintained, with cigarette ends scattered around and dead, dirty plants everywhere. Overall, the hotel felt neglected and unclean. Certainly not the standard I would expect, and unfortunately I would not recommend staying here.
