I’m leaving this review for the lovely lady waitress who was the only one who actually helped us during our visit to Zizzi’s on Saturday. We came to Zizzi’s before going to see a show at 7:30 for my birthday. My friend had booked a table for 6 - when we arrived there wasn’t a table ready for us and the person greeting us seemed a little annoyed that he had to clear up a table for us. When we sat down, the lovely lady (aka hero waitress/ our one true saviour) instantly came over to take our order; she was so friendly and really made up for the man who greeted us. We received our drinks promptly and chatted as we waited for our food. After about 50 minutes, our food still hadn’t arrived. I had a seat that was facing the kitchen area and could see the four men working in the kitchen; they were working with a sincere lack of urgency as they sprinkled cheese on pizzas and cut up pieces of garlic bread. We decided to ask to pay to make sure we could leave straight away after our food had arrived. Note - we were still living in hope that the food would arrive. Again, the same lovely lady who took our order was the one to notice we needed help. As she finished our payment, we asked when our food would arrive; at which point she looked horrified and literally ran to the kitchen to tell them to give us some food. We were then, somewhat randomly, given our side of garlic bread. I watched the kitchen area forlornly as meals that looked like our food were taken to other diners. After even more waiting, we decided to cut our losses and get a meal deal from Sainsbury’s instead. Again, the lovely lady came to our rescue and, when we told her we still hadn't received our mains, again looked horrified and declared ‘YOU NEED A REFUND!’ I was happy to have someone within the organisation who was this outraged on our behalf. It also felt vindicating, and, quite frankly, a relief that we didn’t have to waste more time fighting for our money back. However, unfortunately, she delegated the task of giving us the refund to another man who also suffered from the same lack-of-urgency-itis as the kitchen staff. After taking a very long time to deal with another table who obviously also weren’t happy, he ambled over to the till to look at his screen. The lovely lady waitress then prompted him to give us a refund, at which point wandered over with the card machine to do this. As he arrived, he laughed nervously and said ‘that’s a shame about your meals’. I replied ‘you mean it’s a shame we didn’t get them?’ at which point he laughed again nervously. As our refund of £70 went through, he again laughed and said ‘sorry you didn’t get your meals - hope you enjoy the show anyway!’ At which point, I was so speechless (and hungry!) that all I could do was laugh and leave. We ran to the show and were let in with one minute to spare. Suffice to say, eating a meal deal in the interval was not what I envisioned for my birthday! Again, thank you to the lovely lady waitress who helped us. Your efforts were much appreciated.

There was alot of flavour in my meal. Lauren also gave us the fried pasta nibbles and the hot chocolate sample wjwn i finished. Overall great experience, would gladly come again. Xx

Terrible service and average food. The staff were unfriendly, and part of our order was never brought to the table. When I asked them to pack the dessert that had been missed, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake. The restaurant was almost empty, yet we were asked if we had a booking in a way that felt unwelcoming. Overall, a disappointing experience and not a place I would return to.

i was not going to write this but a few days has passed and it dont sit right with me not saying anything. i came to this restaurant with my boyfriend and mother (food was lovely) but the way i heard the manager speak to the staff was absolutely vile and a borderline abuse of power. the man who served us was a pleasure. the entire restaurant could hear the male manager wearing a blue shirt screaming at the chef which not only very clearly made all the staff feel uncomfortable but the customers too including myself. i can honestly say ive never experienced what i had in this restaurant. if you want to keep your customers and by the looks of things your staff i highly recommend you do something about this as it was completely unacceptable and a miscarriage of power
