About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

You should consider selling warm food, especially baked stuff. Plus if I’m asking staff if they have warm I expect answer like: “we have one” not “is cooked enough”. At least coffee was hot. Standards ARE important.

Went in with my mate ordered two sausage rolls and I was told it’s gonna take 7-8 minutes but she never bothered to bring them over, as I got carried away talking with my mate forgot to ask for them.

Incredibly rude staff. Just ignored my son who was in the queue and served two adults behind him instead. What an example to set to the youth of today. Disgraceful

worst greggs i’ve ever had. cold, barely cooked and just abysmally horrible. myself and a few other customers had trains to catch - the staff were not serving us and when we kindly asked to be served, we got the response ‘it’s not our problem you’ve got a train to catch, is it?’. extremely rude and inconsiderate. it then took the staff ages to even serve us. we all missed our trains - wasted an hour of my life because i had to wait for the next. i placed my order and forgot to order a hot chocolate so asked the staff to add it to my order. she rolled her eyes and sighed. extremely disgusting behaviour and damages the reputation of greggs. the food was also shit. so cold and horrible. i can’t even believe these people were hired. honestly. i’m a huge greggs lover and this one just ain’t it. please don’t go here. you’re better off hunting for food yourself. or you’re better off just starving tbh.

The best Greggs in Coventry. The morning staff are lovely and create a warm atmosphere. Food and coffee service are quick. I wouldn't go anywhere else on my way to work.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
