Beautiful outlook and the food was okay. The cauliflower dish and veggie burger were good but it’s difficult to see where the £17.50 was in the goats cheese salad, it was a bit too visibly tight not to feel a bit stung, same for the size of the side of fries I ordered. Staff were nice.

Not great.. we had lunch here about a year ago and had the best fish finger sandwiches, they were amazing!! But when we returned two weeks ago (Aug 26) with friends for an evening meal it was not good. Two of our meals out of 7, were refunded and we could have insisted on more! This is amazing location with unbelievable views but the evening meal was very basic, overpriced and poor quality to say the least.. Very embarrassing for us bringing 5 friends for dinner.

We live in Newquay and had taken the kids away for a few nights in Looe, my friend recommended this place, we wanted a nice Sunday lunch ao didn't mind the extra cost HOWEVER, there were no consideration for children let alone our neurodivergent children, I have never been to a pub/restaurant that doesn't do a kids menu every day, so to my horror all they offered was roast dinners for the 2 kids, and it was ridiculous for the cost, neither of my girls will eat veg except broccoli which they said they weren't doing, so I asked them to remove all veg, amd instead if they could do some cucumber sticks, ans and extra yorkshire pudding each as I know rhey will eat those, I was happy to pay extra for them, well what came out was a joke, half of a small bone in chicken breast so majority wasn't edible, 6 circular slices of cucumber (choking risk whixh is why i asked for sticks) and that was it, they then bought out the 2 extra yorkshire puddings which cost me £4 extra so in total I ended up paying £18.50 for 2 plates of ½ an inedible chicken brest, 6 slices of cucumber and 1 Yorkshire pudding. The food was ok, it was flavourful but not a lot of it. All in all.a bad experience rhinknwe were all shocked, service.was ok but as soon as I wanted to speak to.someone the whole place was deserted by atadd

Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve been somewhere with service this poor, from start to finish. We waited ages just for someone to acknowledge us and show us to a table, despite it being a very quiet Wednesday lunchtime. Once seated, we waited another 20 minutes before having to ask if someone could take our order - not ideal when you’re dining with a toddler. Unfortunately, the staff seemed completely disinterested throughout, and even the simplest requests seemed to be met with attitude. We had to ask for forgotten cutlery, a straw, and why the children’s meal hadn’t arrived with the breadsticks and crudités clearly stated on the menu and every time made to feel as if we are asking for something unreasonable. The food - one children’s meal and ONE salad starter - took around an hour to arrive. At no point did anyone come over to ask whether everything was okay or check on us afterwards. The only positives were the absolutely stunning views and the fact that a service charge wasn’t automatically included, because otherwise I would certainly have asked for it to be removed. Really disappointing experience and sadly not somewhere I could recommend.

Unfortunately, our experience at the Inn on the Shore was disappointing. We were a table of 6 — 4 adults and 2 children — and the bill came to £139. The adult meals were quite small for the price, and we didn’t feel they represented particularly good value for money. We also explained that we have autistic children who are very particular with food, and made a simple request for the cucumber to be cut lengthways rather than into circles. Despite explaining this, it arrived cut into circles, which made things more difficult for our children. We also asked if the vegetables could be replaced with an extra Yorkshire pudding and were told this was okay. We were then charged an additional £4 for this. The Yorkshire puddings themselves were actually a good size, but we felt there should have been one Yorkshire pudding included with each dinner in the first place, rather than having to pay extra for another one. We appreciate that mistakes can happen, but when spending £139 for six people, we expected better portion sizes, more attention to our requests and clearer communication about additional charges. The location and sea views are lovely, but unfortunately the food and overall experience left us disappointed.
