Had a lunchtime meal there what a disappointment, the club sandwich arrived on a dirty looking bady marked wooden board with very old looking tomato and no side salad or crisps served with it. Although this was better than my husband's ploughman's that never arrived. After me finishing the sandwich and finally managed to find someone to ask about the ploughman's, we were told it was missed. When it did finally arrive we were informed that some of it was missing. It comprised of a couple of gherkins, day old looking gammon, a nasty looking piece of cheese in a black rind, and the same old tomato's that made it into my sandwich and maybe a small pot of either mushy peas or avocado, we couldn't be sure. Obviously it was sent back and we got a refund. For the amount of staff working and how quiet it was, I would have expected better

myself and my boyfriend came here on our last night in cornwall a month or so ago. we had the loveliest time! the staff were so friendly and so welcoming and the view from the table was amazing. the food was perfect — crab and prawn linguine was one of the best pasta dishes i’ve ever tasted and my boyfriend LOVED his korean chicken burger. it was genuinely just such a lovely lovely night, we will be eating here again when we’re back in cornwall!

We have stayed here many times. Downderry room has amazing views of the beach & sea. The breakfast & meals were excellent. All the staff very friendly & helpful. Although some bits are a bit tired looking & need attention. It doesn’t spoil the relaxing calming feeling whilst staying there. Hopefully return soon.

Just had a beautiful Roast Beef lunch it was delicious and more than enough on the plate. The staff were brilliant and a very friendly lady changed our table for us to give us more room as we had our dog with us, she was so nice and took time to talk to our dog as well. The young man who served us was very friendly and didn’t keep pestering us like some places do. 10/10 to both these members of staff they are a credit to you. This was to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and was well worth it. Thank you

Sadly, this place is going downhill, yet again. The outdoor furniture was left exposed to the eliments all winter and has become warped and filthy; yep, they haven't even bothered to clean it up. I would not choose to eat at their outdoor tables for fear of getting my food contaminated, being put off my food by the filthy stains and getting my clothes dirty. The floor decking has also weathered badly and is also very dirty. Inside is a little better but it feels as if the whole place needs a deep clean. When the owners of a venue can't see any problem or fail to see how standards of cleanliness have dropped it reflects very poorly on the perception of everything else about the place. Take for example the very dirty areas on the doors to enter the Gents Toilet, where hands are placed to push the doors open; "disgustingly dirty"!!
Photos on their website showing pristine golden wooden outdoor furniture; this is no longer a reality!
