  To say that our experience here was amazing is an understatement. The food was some of the best me and my wife have ever had. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere and overall experience has made this place our favourite establishment in the entire South of England. The only negative I would say about this place is that it is underappreciated and definitely deserves more recognition.

  Having used this restaurant a lot of times over the years we decided to go for a carvery last night as a party of four. We booked for 5.30 and arrived at 5.15 where we were shown our table and ordered our drinks! At 6.50 I asked if anyone was actually going to take our order to which the young lady answered ‘yes if you want me to’ after giving our order we then waited another 40-45 minutes and I then went to the bar to ask if and when we were going to get our meal. Finally called to go and get our carvery where when was a chunk of beef that was black, dry and tough as old boots, to add insult the veg was ice cold, no carrots, no peas and roast potatoes that frankly weren’t roasted, raw stuffing, I could go on! The chef did apologise but we were told it was due to the fact that they had been busy with “walk-ins”, I get that business is business but surely if you book a table you should be priority over a walk-in. To save face rather than walk out I suggested the chef re heat my dinner in the microwave, in fact he then re heated all of our meals! Honestly I have never eaten in any establishment where before I could eat a meal it’s been microwaved. At the end we paid for our drinks and one meal that was not a carvery and refused to pay for the carvery. It will be a very long time before I go back for sure…………,
