  Tesco Padstow- must be the worst supermarket in the UK. Every summer it’s the same- the shelves are empty- there’s virtually no fresh fruit & veg, only plastic wrapped UPF. (No wonder you can’t get a doctors appointment at Padstow surgery- there’s nothing to eat but rubbish that makes you chronically ill.) You know the tourists are here from mid July until August. Why on earth can’t you get the situation sorted? This evening there were no cherry tomatoes, no whole lettuce, no proper celery, no aubergines, no sweet potatoes, no peppers. And don’t get me started on the new fridges- only one person at a time can get something out of the sliding door fridges…great fun when there’s loads of people trying to grab a chicken or something. Please Lidl or Aldi, can’t you open in Padstow and show the Padstow Tesco management how it’s done? We’ve all had enough! AND please can you have a one person/ one trolley rule during the summer- like you did during Covid? Tourists seem to think it’s a day out and bring all the kids, grandparents and Uncle Tom Cobley and all, as if it’s not mobbed enough… PS the shop floor staff are absolutely lovely and helpful and clearly working incredibly hard btw. I’m guessing that the higher ups are lacking some sandwiches from their picnics….

  Great people well stocked shop. Nice to find somewhere decent to shop when you're camping in Cornwall.

  Handy little Tesco on the outskirts of town. Not an extensive selection but has all the basics you need if on a self catering holiday. If they don't have what you want, there is a lot bigger store in Wadebridge (10-15 minutes drive). Obviously it is always best to support small local businesses, where possible but I suspect the construction of this store forced many to close.

  Went once in morning 15mins and once in evening 15mins for 2 days was staying in Padstow. Have since been sent parking tickets stating I was illegally parked for 2 complete days. Absolute fraud. Have tried calling store unable to speak to a human. Tesco and Horizon parking should be ashamed of themselves.

  I entered Tesco Superstore in Padstow as a simple man, seeking only basic provisions. What I found was a glowing temple of abundance. Doors opened by themselves. Cold air came from invisible spirits. Food from every corner of the earth lay stacked in perfect rows. Bananas, bread, tiny yoghurts, cooked chickens rotating under golden light — all there, waiting, as if the gods themselves had done a weekly shop. I pushed a wheeled basket-cart through the aisles like a confused king. At one point I found five different types of houmous and briefly questioned everything I knew about civilisation. A magical place. I left with milk, crisps, and the uneasy feeling that mankind may have peaked.
