    I visited the Spar Supermarket and went to buy 2 bottles of wine. My 15 yr old daughter was with me in the shop. As I attempted to pay for the wine the lady behind the counter point blank refused to sell it to me, saying ‘I need ID for her’!! I stated I was buying, and my daughter was just ‘with’ me. The lady said she wouldn’t let me buy it as my daughter was under age and because she was ‘with me’ when I picked up the wine she couldn’t legally sell it to me. This kinda thing seems to be a bit of a trend in this shop. Not sure what the deal is??? Never had this happen anywhere else, honestly!

    Consider this store is a convenience store, it would seem they don’t have a clue. With the abundance of Holiday lets, you would think they would stock the essentials. What shop runs out of milk? And this is everyday occurrence. Salads, tomatoes etc are like hen’s teeth not existence. I hope a retailer opens up in this area, and knocks this inadequate shop out of business. It’s not serving the community during holiday periods. And is not fit for purpose. The staff are complacent, and you are lucky if you are greeted with a grunt. It seems the customer is an irritating nuisance when they step foot in this business. The sooner this inadequate shop with its inadequate staff, gets some competition the better it will be for Padstow.

    Clean, handy and full of the usual SPAR stuff. Milk, magazine, chocolate, national lottery and oddly enough DVDs! Just enough off the beaten track, but close enough to pick up some milk when you've run out.
