  Pub was empty when we aarrived and I was told they were quiet when I rang ahead so no need to book and we got there 15 mins later. We asked to be seated near the air conditioning due to illness & disabilities but were placed in the only part without. Had to ask three times for a children’s menu. Was rushed to order food, didn’t even wait to hear if we wanted starters just waltzed off in a hurry, no carvery available, no fish available, two tables full of customers walked back out. I asked about being moved to a cooler table and was told “we’ve lots of tables booked sorry”. I stated that when I called less than half an hour before I was told they weren’t busy no need to book so ira like they deliberately sat us somewhere with no ventilation it was so claustrophobic no windows near either. Just felt like a rush job, service was just not there. First establishment I’ve ever been where we weren’t asked we needed anything ie condiments and also we were never asked how our meal was. Poor customer service. Poor customer care. Food nothing sparkling and not worth the hassle. Wouldn’t recommend to families.

  The staff were lovely, the food has really gone downhill. At it was bloody freezing. I know it was a warm day but you may have well sat in a fridge.

  We called in there on the off chance to be told that they were fully booked for two coach parties and were basically turned away. Now we know how Joseph felt when he and Mary were looking for room at the Inn Needless to say, we probably won't cross the threshold of this establishment again. There were tables outside, but it seems that the coach party was, far more important, than individual customers. I may add, the Quintrell Inn opposite were very accommodating had a lovely approach and atmosphere As for the Treffry Tavern my scores reflect how we were dealt with. One star, in my opinion is too high. Food - No comment. We didn't eat there. Service - scrap with a silent "S" Atmosphere- No comment. We weren't inside long enough to register one.
