Miserable woman behind the bar informed us the kitchen was closed (this was at 6.30 when the website said they served food until 7) despite there being empty tables and food coming out as we spoke. Apparently 'residents' take precedent over people who actually live in the village. Luckily the Five Pilchards were far more accommodating.

The food here is absolutely amazing! We dined using the Food Club, which runs on a Wednesday. Someone in our group had been many times before, so we went on his recommendation. I had the chilli calamari starter, fish and chips and then the sticky toffee pudding. All were really exceptional. The service were great and I couldn't fault anything, hence the full five stars.

Absolutely delicious food, lovely friendly bar/waiting staff and landlady, according to husband we ate here with kids about 18years ago and was nice then, but tonight s was 11/10.
