Popped in with my husband and Grandaughter for tea ,it looked alot brighter ,cleaner and better organised. We ordered the food and it came within 20 mins ,it looked great and well presented the staff were really friendly and helpful. The pudds were just as great . The only disappointing thing of the experience was we hadnt prebooked so we were placed over in the bar area which would of been fine ,but there seemed to be a few groups of men that turned up sitting at the tables drinking and at times swearing which l felt wasn't appropriate with families sitting down having tea .l could of spoken to the staff but l felt it wasn't their fault. So we will definitely be going again because you can't fault the staff or the food .Well done to all the staff , Well done to the chefs.
I don't understand why this pub is closing down, saying its not making money as its always busy everytime we go there. If a pub and restaurant this busy can't make money, whats it like for other pubs?

Away for 4 nights on business (with one other) staying at the Premier Inn next door, so we had the prepaid meal deal option. The pub is run down, the staff were tired and disinterested. Food and drink quality was poor (the doom bar was not at the correct temperature, wines were over priced, etc). We could only push ourselves to eat there twice (to sum up how bad it was our food was paid for by the company but we still had to eat elsewhere on the other two nights) on both occasions the food took over an hour to arrive and when it did it was way below average in both presentation and taste. We found it staggering that the Breakfast could be so good (hence the 2 stars) yet the evening meals were so bad. No idea who the manager is here but very disappointing and not worthy of anyones money.
just come back from a lovely evening at the carclaze and I’m very impressed with the service from the staff… from the moment we arrived the manager sat us down quickly and served our drinks immediately which we were impressed about no waiting times… I’m also quite fussy and asked for a lot of changes on my main meal and asked for a dessert to be taken-away and both staff were extremely helpful in accepting my changes which gave me a very great experience tonight! It’s nice to see a great team! :-)

Unfortunately a long wait for food ( 1hr 45 mins +) despite pre-booking a table for 11 of us as a birthday treat.
3 of our group ordered mixed grills 2 of which came without onion rings or tomatoes.
A steak that was not cooked as requested.
1 children's meal was explicitly dairy free due to and allergy so ordered the sausage and chips but came out as sausage and mash which was not dairy free!!
I ordered the vegetarian lasagna but was later told it was unavailable son ordered a katsu curry which was ok.
Our waitress was lovely and very apologetic explained there was only 1 grill chef in the kitchen on this occasion.
We were given a £10 discount on our bill
