  Went today for lunch, 4 persons only to be told it is no longer open to non residents, but a banner is still up saying £5.99 meals 12-6pm Terrible we’re meeting our friends who have travelled quite a few miles.

  Just an absolute joke! Went for my daughters birthday yesterday evening got there just after 18.30 got sat all going fine ordered our food was only four of us on the table and then the wait begins over an hour later manager comes to our table after we chased them asking how much longer food was going to be he said he won’t lie but going to be another 10 minutes ok fine….another 25 minutes past and still no food. The place wasn’t busy at all and the manager was walking around huffing and puffing because customers were obviously becoming less patient. In the end we walked out after 1 hour and half or more waiting for food. I have no idea why there was such a wait I overheard another table saying they have waiting over an hour and half also. Who ever that bloke was in charge last night needs some training in customer service 🙄

  Steak was practically rare when asked for medium,medium well cottage pie was slightly burnt at the bottom and peas were still crunchy chips were absolutely stunning and service was amazing

  Where to start ... booked online, no mention of any issues at this time which was a matter of a few hours on the day. On arrival there were pieces of paper everywhere stating NO walk ins and a fridge issue so quite a few items unavailable. At first we thought give it a go still but perhaps we should have left at this point. We were sat by the kitchen which was rather annoying with the door slamming shut every minute or two. No joke the door was very loud. The server was sharp and didnt recognise my mother had hearing issues. She seemed very short fused and frustrated. The food was terrible. Two haddock and chips ordered ... one undercooked and gooey and the other was cremated. The peas weren't cooked and were missing the extra paid for upgraded loaded chips. The onion rings were cold. Skin formed on peas showing food was held under the lamp a while. We had a simple order 2 haddock and 2 burgers, thats all. Waited an hour for that! Burgers were over cooked but just about edible (my father ate his but I hadnt touched mine) The manager was rude when this was brought to her attention, snapping about staff shortages etc when I pointed out it's only basic pub grub but many issues were not happy about. Matters escalated the more issues we kept finding to the point we no longer wanted the food, the manager gets shirty making rude comments. We asked not to pay for the food due to being that bad and now coming out at all different times. I didnt want to deal with the rude manager (only found out she was at this point) the other calm server was happy to let us pay for the drinks and leave the food but the manager stuck her nose in by this point she said we wanted us out so just leave and dont pay for anything. My daughter then tries to talk to them to be met with basically 'leave'. My daughter even asked what have I done? She was ignored. My daughter wanted to pay for the drinks we had. Dont bother going here .... the service and food are diabolical and waste of your time and money.
