Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Standard Greggs. Service was polite and quite quick. The tea was hot but not scalding hot, which makes a pleasant change.

Disappointing customer service at Greggs Carmarthen.
I popped into Greggs today to pick up a caramel latte and asked if I could have some cream and caramel sauce on top.
The young woman serving me seemed almost too eager to tell me no, explaining that the sauce was only for the pumpkin latte. I politely asked why, as I’d visited the same branch yesterday and had no issue. I’ve also been to Greggs all over the UK and have never encountered this problem before.
She offered me chocolate instead, but I explained that I didn’t want chocolate. I simply wanted a caramel latte with cream and caramel sauce.
She then went to get her manager, who came over, didn’t acknowledge me properly and simply said no. When I explained that I’d had the same drink yesterday, his response was that I shouldn’t have been given it in the first place.
My issue isn’t necessarily the sauce itself. If there’s a company policy, that’s fine, but there’s a polite and professional way to explain it to a customer. Both employees came across as argumentative and seemed more interested in telling me no than trying to help.
I left feeling as though I’d done something wrong simply by asking for a little caramel sauce on my caramel latte coffee. It’s a real shame, because I’ve always enjoyed visiting Greggs and have never experienced this sort of attitude at other branches.
I genuinely don’t believe this would have happened if Michael were still the manager. The customer service has certainly gone downhill since he left.
A little courtesy and a friendly attitude cost absolutely nothing. Very disappointing experience.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
