They couldn't run a clown show in a circus. Booked a table on line for 7pm then called into the pub the day before and booked a specific table. Bar staff were excellent and booked it all in for us.
We arrived at 18.45 and our pre booked table was in use. Other tables were available but if I go out of my way to make things special for our 51st wedding anniversary night I expect to be seated as pre arranged.
The left hand didn't know what right hand was doing. Ruined our evening out. Thank you. What a sh*t show.

We visited this restaurant recently while on holiday with our family, and unfortunately the whole experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived.
The restaurant itself was unwelcoming and very poorly maintained. There were full fly traps left overflowing, tables were visibly unclean, and the cutlery was not clean either. This immediately raised concerns about the general standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Unfortunately, the food did very little to improve the experience. We ordered steak and were served it without steak knives. We then had to ask three separate times for cutlery, despite our food already having been brought to the table. By the time we finally received it, we were understandably frustrated.
Two of the mixed grills arrived cold, and the scampi was simply inedible. The only positive was the hot dog, which was actually quite nice — although, to be fair, it's difficult to go too far wrong with a sausage in a bun! Even then, however, it was advertised as being served in brioche bread, but arrived in what was clearly a standard white roll. That's a small detail, but when you're paying for something advertised in a particular way, you expect to receive what you've ordered.
The waiter himself did try his best, and I don't feel the issues were entirely his fault. He appeared to be completely overrun, which only highlighted how poorly the restaurant seemed to be staffed and managed.
I'd also point out that if you're visiting as a larger family or group, there is very limited space to accommodate you sitting together, which is something worth being aware of before visiting.
Overall, between the poor cleanliness, overflowing fly traps, dirty tables and cutlery, cold and inedible food, missing cutlery, misleading description of the hot dog and overwhelmed service, this was nowhere near the standard I would expect when eating out, particularly while on holiday.
Sadly, this is not somewhere I would choose to visit again, and based on our experience, I couldn't recommend it to other families.

Had really high hopes for this pub yet my whole family and me were disappointed. Came on holiday and walked into town hoping for a nice meal and we were extremely disappointed. For starters the food was freezing cold to the point it was un edible, We were given butter knifes for steaks, not to even mention the staff. A staff member dropped a pot of sweet chilli and although I'm positive it was an accident he didn't come back to clean it up and we had to ourselves with napkins before we left. Wouldn't recommend with small children as they advertise as family friendly yet our whole family was given dirty looks, tutted at and even had a woman say something to us about the younger children despite the fact its advertised as a family friendly place. Definitely would not recommend.

I ate at this hotel. The staff were friendly, and for the price, the food was acceptable. Various offers were stated on their website which were not reflected on their menu, but the reason for the poor rating was not this, but the hygiene, and the swarm of flies which was allowed to bother diners in the small dining room. It put us all off our food and made for a thoroughly unpleasant experience.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The location was convenient, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with a good variety of options. Overall, the hotel provided excellent service and great value for money. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
