- JBJoya BradleyAug 27, 20261.0The lady at the till was very kind and helped me find someone with a club card, as I did not have one, so I saved money and got a voucher for money off petrol. However the reason for the one star is that although this is a large Tesco, they do not reliably have someone to slice bread in their bakery. The first time, sliced no problem. The second time, in the morning I was told the one guy who could was on break. The break apparently should only be for 30mins but he did not appear for more than an hour. The other people I asked said there was no one else and that there was no store manager to speak to and they did not know where the slicer guy was. The third time, in the evening, apparently all the people in the bakery went home so no one can slice the bread. When I tried to tell an employee my disappointment, she told me it was not her dept, not her fault and to go over to Customer Service to complain. I literally have never been to another supermarket anywhere else in the country, that has fresh bread and no one to slice it. Surely other employees could be trained. The machine cannot be that complicated. Addendum: went to M&S (just 12 min away) and they had TWO people slicing their bread.
