Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
I love this Greggs it's light and airy, with plenty of seating...ordered two vegan sausage rolls, two lots of hash browns and two black Americans... Everything was excellent, the coffee was spot on, the sausage rolls and hash browns were just the ticket on a rainy Friday.

Huge queue and a male staff member with a cap and red face mark was being obnoxious and rude to multiple customers.
A young girl got yelled at with attitude TWICE for sitting alone and not ordering straight away even though she had clarified she was waiting for her friend so she could then order. Completely unnecessary since there was plenty of seats and no one was waiting to sit down.
When it came to us ordering, the boy that served us took our drinks order and gave us takeaway cups- he never asked us if they were eat in or takeaway and we had to stand at the till while he was making the drinks since he didn’t put the payment through the till - causing the queue to grow and other members of staff were having to serve around us. As we sat down to offload the food into our bags, he yelled with attitude from behind the counter saying “it’s extra to sit in that is why we ask you at the counter”. We were very taken back since we were never asked and we were taking the drinks away- this is poor service and not an efficient way to solve a problem. If he had politely asked we would have felt comfortable to explain the situation or go up and pay. Instead we left feeling very disappointed.
A few customers around us were also mumbling about how rude this staff member was especially to the poor girl sat alone clearly being made to feel uncomfortable.
Thankyou.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
