I asked a member of staff who appeared to be marking down some items and he replied with " there will be some in the chiller in the back I'll get round to filling it eventually". Made no attempt to get some for me. Apawling service!!

- JKJonathan KearsleyJul 20, 20221.0Bit shocked really. Co-op Grasmere seems to be run by a couple of Basil Fawlty’s? We called in whilst visiting the village for 2 bars of chocolate and an ice lolly. Fairly standard run of the mill purchase yeah? Narrow aisles awaited that are way too small, and a big queue or people waiting to be served. Only one guy serving at the time, who was poleaxed by a lady trying to scan a lettuce that had lost its bar code. Cue a frantic dash into the store looking for the price whilst we all waited. Meanwhile this chaps colleague arrived with brew in hand. The cavalry had arrived. He immediately went into meltdown when serving my wife, even sternly rebuking her with a “COME ON!” because she didn’t hand over her 3 items for scanning in less than 0.1 of a second. Payment was then sorted though… Then as we turned to leave a lettuce came sailing past our heads to be caught by a customer who had the skills of a top American Footballer! You guessed it, the first guy had finally established its cost… circa 35p I would have thought….
