After being let down by another venue 3 day before dianes 80th celebration we booked here only 2 days beforr the event. Staff were amazing, especially Jason ,food was great and they allowed our own live music. Overall a really great place.

I had my 80th party here at very short notice. Jason and the team were very accommodating and pulled out all of the stops to make my celebration extra special. The food was fabulous and the service exceptional (thanks Tilly). I couldn’t fault the Ram’s Head in any way. Thank you.

The owners seem to genuinely care about making this pub a nice experience. Dogs are very welcome and my wife and I always enjoy sitting out on the front and taking in the nice ambience of this picturesque village.

We've lived a few minutes' walk from this pub for 9 years and have watched it change hands. It's been solid under the current landlord for a while now, which is what makes tonight so disappointing, because it undid a lot of that goodwill in one go. Took my wife and three kids in after a brutal week, just wanting to relax. Told 45 minutes for food, fine, no drama. 49 MINUTES later, the landlord came over with attitude already loaded, to tell us they'd run out of a meal. When I simply asked why we were only finding this out 49 minutes in, he told me I was "arguing" with him, for asking a completely reasonable question. I asked to step aside for a quiet word, purely to understand why we'd only been told this so far into the wait, and got the same dismissive, condescending attitude there too, told again that I was arguing when I clearly wasn't. Asked for a refund since we'd had enough. He snatched the ordering screen round to show me it "wasn't allowing" the refund, as if that settled it. It doesn't matter what the ordering system says, a refund can still be processed directly on the card terminal regardless, something I know well from my own industry. Instead I was fobbed off with cash I never asked for and didn't want. My wife, who hates confrontation and rarely says a word in situations like this, felt so uncomfortable with how we were being treated that she spoke up too, and got exactly the same patronising, dismissive response for her trouble. Then, as we were leaving: "we're doing our best" and "I've had a bad day." I'd had an awful week, that's WHY we came in, to switch off, not to be patronised and accused of arguing twice over for asking fair questions. Capped off by being told if we're not happy, don't bother coming back. Genuinely good food, nice setting, completely undone tonight by a landlord with a serious attitude problem and no idea how to speak to paying customers under pressure. Avoid unless you enjoy being condescended to for spending your money there.
