We had the most fantastic day celebrating our granddaughter’s birthday at The Slow and Easy Pub, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
From the very beginning, Emma, the landlady, was absolutely amazing. She was so accommodating with all the requests we had, including bringing in entertainment and even a bouncy castle for the children. Nothing was too much trouble, and Emma went above and beyond to help make the day really special.
Emma also arranged the food for us, and it was absolutely amazing! We had a fantastic hot and cold buffet, with extra food for the kids, and there was plenty for everyone to enjoy. Everything was delicious and beautifully arranged.
The staff were also brilliant throughout the day. They were so friendly, helpful and welcoming, always greeting us with a big smile when serving drinks and bringing the food over. It really made the whole atmosphere feel relaxed and enjoyable.
My granddaughter absolutely loved her special day, and so did all our family and friends. In fact, so many of our guests commented on how lovely the pub was and said they would definitely be coming back again for the food.
And the smell of the Sunday roast as you walk into the pub is absolutely delicious, it really makes you want to come back and try it!
A huge thank you to Emma and all the staff at The Slow and Easy for helping make our granddaughter’s birthday such a fantastic and memorable day. We really appreciate everything you did for us. We will definitely be returning! ❤️🎂🎉
Ordered the chicken gyros, when it came it was inedible, chicken was so dry & triple, quadruple cooked that I thought it was crispy onions. When I complained & asked for a refund, I had to wait till the bar for the staff to get an answer from their supervisor by txt, told that as I had already paid I couldn’t get a refund, but could have a free drink.

Thought we would try the food here was absolutely disappointing we ordered the steak and ale pie chips peas and gravy
The chips are from frozen they was well undercooked hard in middle the pie also frozen range hot on outside only warm in middle I would never eat here again
The simplest things warm a pie and cook frozen chips and they couldn't do the simplest things correctly
Disappointed is an understatement and yes we did tell the waitress about it I'd avoid this place better places around the area
Where to start, okay I know I can be a little picky, but I have no complaints about this property. Stayed in the area for work for much longer than expected so ended up staying three nights, but in separate rooms /suites (3, 6 & 7), all of which were stunningly decorated. But more importantly, they were immaculately clean, well equipped and soo comfortable. Each of the rooms have plugs next to the bed with us and C charges as well as standard sockets which I found so useful. The beds, I thought, were hard at first but after popping into the down duvets and snuggling up into the bed, they were incredibly comfortable and I slept really well, ready for the next day.
The bathrooms were spotless (see above comment on being picky) and again well stocked. There was a good selection of teas and delicious biscuits.
The welcome book was informative and would have been useful if I wasn't there working. I made it to the restaurant just the first day and thoroughly enjoyed my man n cheese which chicken on top. Service was good and prices were comparable to usual pub costs. The landlady was fantastic and so accommodating, very friendly and the reason why this will be my go-to place when I'm back in the area for work every month. I highly recommend unless you have mobility issues as the cute little stairs may be a little challenging. Really great period place, love it.
