  A beautiful country pub with a decent menu, a secure, large-ish and clean beer garden which is safe for children and dogs, and a tastefully maintained period interior. The food is somewhat inconsistent, I've had an absolutely outstanding roast here a few weeks ago and I can see why they were regional best roast winners for the last two years!! The food was of a good standard today as well when we visited, but it was disappointing that the lunch portion cottage pie had no veg at all on the side. My main issue today is the Irish coffee - it was made with either filter or instant coffee, the coffee tasted burned and it was topped with spray cream. At £15.50 for two Irish coffees, I was really disappointed and struggled to finish my drink. If the correct ingredients aren't available, it would be great if staff could just say that they can't provide the requested item as it was worse trying to drink the Irish coffee than not having one at all. I didn't want to complain to the waitress as she seemed to be the only one on and she was young :) we love the pub and will be back but a few little tweaks would make things even better!

  Arrived at 1910 as the website and Google details say that the kitchen closes at 2000, only to be told that they have stopped serving food.

  We booked a table here Friday evening, what a great pub. The food was tasty and delicious, piping hot would highly recommend the Hazel Pear. The staff where brilliant and a great choice on the menu even for Vegans... Thank you so much for our experience and will definitely we will be back again

  Local pub with a car park. I have passed the pub so many times. Today i decided to try with a friend. Staff were polite and friendly. We had soup for starter and Sunday roast for main . Starter, marks out of 10 would be a 7.5. Sunday roast marks out of 10 would be a 9.. Soup was a small portion. Sunday roast, the meat was so lovely. Price just a little high.

  Booked for birthday lunch, excellent food, good and helpful service and nice atmosphere with several families enjoying themselves. One slight issue was that I wanted to add a gratuity to my bill, but unable to do so as I was paying by credit card. Fortunately had nearly enough cash as I would have added, might be something for the management to reconsider?
