Absolutely beautiful public house in wonderful surroundings. I didn't eat here but the food looked incredible. Unfortunately my experience with bar staff was below average at best. A smile goes a long way. Quite miserable staff in general. Just didnt seem like any of them wanted to be there. Not just the bar staff but also the more senior staff. Its a real shame and I hope this feedback helps to rectify the negative atmosphere. Sunday 16th August kind regards, from a kind person x

We stopped at the Okde Barbridge in the middle of the heatwave, coming off the canal, at about midday, after doing the six locks coming up from Chester. It was the perfect thing to do - we had a shady corner in the ‘Cocktail Snug’ had a relaxed lunch, provided by friendly and efficient staff and good that was just right. And good value. Thank you!

Stopped here for dinner last week while on a long journey. The service was pretty good and it was fairly quiet.
We did have a laugh at how stingy the portion of mushy peas was! They came in the same tiny ramekins used for the ketchup, mayonnaise and tartare sauce. When you’re paying for a meal that has mushy peas as a side, you expect a bit more than what was essentially a condiment-sized portion - one mouthful!
Food was fine, but the portion of peas just felt unnecessarily stingy.

Great venue! Stumbled across this place on a canal walk. On the Saturday afternoon in question we where met with live music! There was a bouncy castle for kids too, as well as a decent playground. A couple of guest ales on, and Murphy's stout as well as Guinness - a bit of a rarity. Nice place for families. Food offering looked good (though I wasn't in the market for anything to eat)

Call here normally several times a year , but the service is now letting the pub down, we ordered meals took 20 minutes to get a drink then another 20 minutes for someone to even take the food order let alone bring it, eventually arrived no side of the chips with the lasagne the lady said I will go to get some, my partner had totally finished his meal then she came a good 15 mins later with the chips 😡
The plates were not cleared away quickly left on the table for a while , again waiting for the desserts .In my option don’t have the music and spend the money on more staff , several other people said the exact same bad service, shame and the food is always quite nice ,
Just massively under staffed .
