Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Pre ordered as there was a massive line and only 1 person serving, we waited until past the time and the drinks we ordered where put on the side in a bag ans left, while there we watched staff launch an order in a bag across the counter and make breakfast items on the counter with her bear hands pulling egg apart then adding bacon, nothing was cleaned and then a sausage roll was made with the same equipment and on the same side, if this is happening where customers can see I would hate to see what happens in the back, glad we only ordered drinks

The only Greggs I have to actively avoid, badly managed and still seems no sign of improvement after two years. Management is key to service quality

Not a friendly place to enjoy a cuppa. Every time I come here, the black tall guy (I’m not being a racist, using the description to specify the person), was so rude and act like he doesn’t wanna serve me. Every time I tried to scan my Greggs QR code, the attitude that he showed was awful. If people like him do not have any customer service, why they still keep him. Shame on you Greggs. Not gonna recommend and will never come back.

I wanted to take the time to recognise Ben Bryan for the outstanding customer service he provided during my visit to Greggs. From the moment I arrived, he was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic in helping customers. His positive attitude and professionalism really stood out and made a lasting impression.
In a world where great customer service can sometimes be hard to find, Ben delivered one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time. He was approachable, polite, patient, and made every customer feel valued. It was clear that he takes real pride in his work and cares about providing an excellent experience for everyone who walks through the door.
What impressed me most was how naturally he engaged with customers while remaining efficient and professional. He created a friendly atmosphere and represented Greggs exceptionally well. Team members like Ben are the reason customers keep coming back.
Ben is a huge asset to your business and a real credit to Greggs. I hope this feedback is passed on to him and his management team, as outstanding employees deserve recognition. Thank you, Ben, for the fantastic service and for making my visit such a positive one. Keep up the great work! 👏👏👏

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
