  I would give zero stars if that was an option. We went as a family of 19 for my Aunts 80th birthday. We all pre ordered and were all on time bar two people who were 15 minutes late. There were hardly any staff, 1 chef, 1 waiter, 1 barmaid and 1other staff member who was doubling up between the bar and kitchen, all the staff were no older than 20 and there was no manager or assistant manager in the premises. Our food started to come out 45 minutes after our arrival and took and hour to complete. The food was below par and most of it burnt, reheated, inedible.with portions that would suit a toddler (3 pieces of carrots and 3 roast potatoes. Those that order the roast did not get a Yorkshire pudding as described and the veg was burnt, stringy and lacking in portions. The pie crust was so hard it couldn't be cut and the fish and chips soggy. The childrens meals were just as bad, 2 small chicken goujons and a handful of chips that was served last almost an hour after the first meal came out. The staff were rude, argumentative, stubborn, and would not take any responsibility or apologise. There were no other bookings but plenty of people drinking in the beer garden. A few people had ordered food but we're told upon complaining about the wait of almost an hour that it was because they had a large family booking. They should not have accepted our booking, they clearly could not cater a large party and the management needs to give their heads a wobble leaving such a small number of inexperienced staff to manage a busy Sunday lunchtime. They also do not cater to gluten intolerance or allergies and specifically stated this very abruptly over the phone. I had to take my own gf gravy, gluten free vegetarian sausages and they still charged full price for what they called a roast dinner. Very disappointed indeed I would not recommend unless you just want a drink.

  Their website said no need to book and food is served until 8pm but when we turned up at 7.25pm we were told we were too late !

  Staff not very helpful, lied about waiting time and food, waited 1hour 20 minutes, no check until asked. We left in disgust with no food. Do not recommend.

  We enjoyed visiting and mooring our boat here. They couldn’t have been more helpful and food is great.
