  Sunday lunch was good, staff didn't know anything about the vegetarian option but they soon found out! Pie was delicious. Veg could have been a bit more exciting but the mushroom pie made up for it. I ordered pigs in blankets for my dog and they were cut up in to perfect size pieces!

  What a pleasant surprise walking into the Boars Head where I haven’t been for a while. Made to feel welcome. Tables set out nicely ready for lunch (and they weren’t sticky either). Nice choice of lunch menu. I had the vege burger just because it sounded nice and it really was. Very impressed, will be back.

  Sunday lunch here today was interesting.......the wait for the starters was 1.5 hrs. When it finally arrived it was just a piece of toast with pate on for £8 and would've taken 3 minutes to put together. Everyone was experiencing the same problem with delays it seemed, with many complaints. Main course Sunday roast was mediocre, at best; roasties were rock hard, and only just warm enough. A lot of money spent, with a meet up with old friends and an expensive disappointment. Some people came in after us to order food and were told that the wait was 2 hrs and it wasn't worth ordering it ........................I wish they'd told me that !!!

  We attended the UB40 tribute night at The Boars Head in Poynton and had a brilliant evening! The atmosphere was lively and everyone was in great spirits. The event was very well organised, and Diane, Rebecca and the whole team did a fantastic job putting on such a great night. The service was excellent, with the staff being friendly, attentive and always on hand when needed. Nothing was too much trouble. A great venue, great atmosphere and a fantastic team — we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend The Boars Head for a great night out! 🍻🎶❤️

  I ordered lemon meringue pie and was astounded at how small it was for £7.75 ( it did not come with any extras such as ice cream). I said as much to the waitress and was on the pint of refusing it. She offered me a discount saying she would charge me for a small desert and to come to her at the end which I did. The landlady came across and explained that the size and price were stipulated by the owners. I went for.my discount at the end as suggested and was REFUSED by the land lady who said the waitress should not have offered it. I explained that I would have not have eaten it had that been the case and she still refused. We will NOT be returning.
