  I’ve recently moved to the area, and Tesco has always meant a great deal to me. During the pandemic, they supported my family when my parents were shielding, and that kindness is why I remain a loyal, high‑spending customer. Unfortunately, the Hibel Road store has been consistently disappointing. As an early‑morning shopper, I often feel like an inconvenience to staff who are stocking shelves or picking .com orders. Basic greetings are frequently ignored, and asking for help is met with reluctance. There are standout staff — Hayley (cleaning team) and the blonde lady on self‑service — both warm, professional, and a credit to Tesco. But overall morale seems low, and customer service suffers because of it. Today was the final straw: the self‑service area was left with one staff member, no support, and a manager who told me tills don’t open until 7am — despite them being opened for me every Monday at 6am for months. I also overheard staff using expletive language near the stock doors, which is not acceptable in front of customers. I spend over £600 a month at Tesco, and I want to continue supporting the brand I care about. But something is seriously wrong at Hibel Road, and I hope management will take this feedback seriously.

  This is a big store with great variety. However I asked 3 different members of staff where to find potted beef and left without finding any.

  Store itself was great, very well stocked. I'd ridden over from Derbyshire heading to Macclesfield Forest and stopped in for snacks. This was the bicycle security facility. You need to do better.

  Visits on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July. Absolute chaos! Not enough tills open. People will special needs at the checkout queue needing help and more tills open. Self service tills not working as they should, ie items not scanning without the intervention of a human! Take on some much needed staff Tesco Macclesfield, you are not operating as you should, this isn’t just on the dates listed above, it’s an ongoing problem for customers. Tesco you can do better!
