Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Worst experience in here staff in particular a woman called shelly was very rude and angry to not only myself but other customers like we were not doing things fast enough the attitude of her was even worse atleast put a bit of effort in that you care about the customers experience and if your going to swear make sure you do it somewhere where the customer can't hear what's being said about them shelly

Wee fella behind the counter named Curtis was so unbelievably rude to a very elderly lady who was clearly hard of hearing and moving a bit slower than he wanted, have never seen someone act this way towards an elderly customer, flailing his arms about and making very loud obnoxious comments and laughing to his coworkers(who did not join in with his berating) because he had to wait about 30 seconds to take a Greggs order, also continued to direct his comments to the entire queue because nobody skipped past the elderly woman to be served by him as if it was everyone else’s fault he had to wait a very short amount of time, Curtis should not be working customer service, that’s no way to speak to the public especially elderly women, his boss should have a serious talk with him about his behaviour.

I placed a food order with Greggs and unfortunately had a very poor experience. When my order arrived, the food was cold, which was disappointing.
I then tried calling to resolve the issue. I rang around seven times and each time the phone was picked up and immediately hung up. After roughly the tenth attempt, someone finally spoke to me, but the employee was extremely rude and hung up on me while I was mid-sentence.
This level of customer service is unacceptable. I wasn’t even given the chance to explain the problem with my order or ask for a solution. I expect much better from Greggs and hope this feedback is taken seriously.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
