Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

They seem extremely unhappy in their job, by the comments they make publicly whilst working. Perhaps if they listened to the customers when they are placing their order, then there would be less sarcastic and passive aggressive comments made by staff about the customers behind their backs. You do know we can hear you when you turn your back to us. If this comment and attitude hadn’t happened, then I would not need to address it publicly. It feels like there is a management issue at this store, and that retraining the staff on customer service skill needs to be a priority. As for the food and drinks… there’s no issues.
- COChristine OJun 30, 20264.0In general, good experience. Food is hot and reasonably priced - their app offers nice freebies after so many purchases. Curtis' customer service skills have definitely improved, growth is important and he's clearly been learning over time and taking feedback on board. Some of the women behind the counter are quite brusque and should shadow Blazej to learn from his example. Blazej is a credit to the store, his customer service is second to none. Always smiling and pleasant.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
