  I visited the Tesco Mobile department today to buy a mobile phone and the customer service was exceptional. The lady that helped me was a credit to Tesco, extremely helpful and patient. I could not fault the experience. It is very rare these days to receive such a high level of customer service. Well done!

  **Date:** 18 August 2026 I would like to formally make a complaint about my experience at Tesco Express in Dunstable, which I felt involved **racism and discriminatory treatment**. I went to the store and met two friends there. We spent almost three hours shopping together. The total value of their shopping was approximately **£450**. I was **not buying alcohol**. My friends were the ones purchasing alcohol, while I was buying different items. When we reached the bill counter, my two friends were carrying physical ID because they were purchasing alcohol. I am 28 years old, but I do not normally carry physical ID with me. I had a digital form of ID, but the staff did not allow or accept it. I was not the person purchasing the alcohol, and I only met my friends at the bill counter. I felt that I was treated differently because of my background and that the way I was spoken to and treated by **Sangeetha** and also the manager felt like **racism**. I felt there was partial and discriminatory treatment towards me, even though I was not buying alcohol. I understand that Tesco has rules regarding age verification and alcohol purchases, and I respect those rules. However, I do not understand why my ID was being questioned or why I was treated in this way when my friends were the ones purchasing alcohol. The situation made me feel uncomfortable, embarrassed and that I was being subjected to **racism and unequal treatment**. I would like Tesco to investigate this incident properly, including the conduct of Sangeetha and the manager, why my digital ID was not accepted, and why I was treated in this manner when I was not purchasing alcohol. I would appreciate a clear explanation and a proper response to my complaint about **racism and discriminatory treatment**.
