Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

The typical Greggs with the known food, the inside is nice and spacious but outside there are only two tables for people to sit and eat or drink coffee. They could have a couple of tables more.

When EVER I'm in The Quadrant I call in for a coffee (and maybe a sneaky sausage roll). I love Greggs - but the team here are so very good. Tracey who runs the show is always friendly and fun - but runs a tight ship fast, efficient service (but always time for a mini chat) Can't WAIT for the super new shop to open. Well done girls !

We visit Greggs every day to get our morning coffee & breakfast to start our working day! We spend quite a bit of money in there on a daily/weekly basic! The staff aren’t friendly like they used to be! Customer service is poor, no smiles or hello’s! We ask for something & it’s feels like often it’s too much trouble and we get huffed & puffed at, quite often they don’t have cream for hot drinks or cups and there’s no apology just a poor attitude. It’s disappointing especially when we are good, loyal customers that visit so regularly and spend lots of money! A smile, hello doesn’t take much. Really sad how much it’s changed over time. Perhaps it’s time for us to start visiting elsewhere & somewhere we feel we are appreciated.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
