Lovely staff, good food... but absolutely rubbish customer liaison from Tesco's! Since the refurbishment (which has caused loads of confusion for staff and customers) it has not been possible to get club card point credited at the new order point machines. The staff have tried to help, but even when you type in the club card number, the machines don't recognise the number. So we asked the store manager, who gave us the Club Card help line number... they were very unhelpful and blamed Tesco Credit Card, so we rang Tesco Credit Card and, although apologetic, they couldn't help either and suggested that we visit the in store Customer Service and get over 200 points credited back... Great plan, however, the Cafe receipts do not have a bar code... so, although the person on Customer Service was really lovely, she couldn't help us.
It's a classic... one part of Tesco blaming another part and no one taking responsibility for sorting out this issue which has only arisen because Tesco "upgraded" to self service ordering tills.
Terrible service from Tesco. What's really sad is that, in the past, Tesco technology has always been really well thought through and implemented very well... this has been a complete disaster from a customer perspective!
So, after over an hour on the phone and various visits to the store we are no further forward...
Please sort this out as a matter of urgency for your "valued" customers - if that's what Tesco thinks their customers are!?!
