We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.

- DJDanny JacksonAug 18, 20251.0Terrible experience at Greggs Waterbeach. The manager seemed to have zero knowledge about the meal deal, which was shocking. If the manager doesn't know the basics, how can we expect the colleagues to get it right? To make matters worse, I paid for a mocha but was served a latte. This was my second visit in six months, and it was a huge step down from the previous experience. The previous manager was knowledgeable, polite, and a pleasure to talk to. Unfortunately, the new management falls short. The food is also a major letdown. My wife Luna witnessed them baking vegan and meat products in the same tray, which is a huge no-go for us. Needless to say, I won't be recommending Greggs Waterbeach for food anytime soon. Disappointing experience all around.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
