  Had three pieces of chicken and chips. The chicken was so dry couldn’t eat it. It had obviously been cooked for ages and left to keep hot. The chips were soggy . Won’t be going back there.

  VEGETARIANS AND VEGANS BEWARE- The so called 'Green Heroes' are not vegetarian friendly, as they are cooked alongside non vegetarian foods. The menu is stated as being vegetarian, however this cannot be the case due to the method of cooking.

  A few weeks ago I called in me my son and Grandson the food was really lovely and freshly cooked,so i decided to go back today had 2 sausages small chips and mushy peas with a can almost £16 mushy peas almost £4 after todays visit food no where near the quality of previous visit, so wont be going back there again

  Sadly this has become more often a poor dining experience rather than good. The chips were far from good as they were soggy and tasteless hence why I drowned them in S&V. The cod was more like plaice. Flat, no substance and certainly not worth the price you have to pay. 2 Fish and one large chips, delivered…..£35. Ordered to be delivered for 1900 and delivered at 1845 so I guess some might say super efficient but others (including myself) delivery at the time that was requested please. I really don’t think I’ll ever use this one again which is sad as there was a time when it was pretty good.

  Usually my favourite chippy, and one I actually travel from Cambridge to Bar Hill for, so I was really disappointed with our experience tonight. We arrived and ordered at around 8:35pm and sat down to eat. I’m aware that dine-in usually finishes at around 9pm, with takeaway continuing afterwards, so I had absolutely no issue with being asked to finish up and leave. However, at around 9:05pm, a white gentleman with dark black hair working there simply shouted across the restaurant at us, “excuse me, the restaurant closed at 9.” There was no polite approach, smile or “sorry guys, we’re closing the restaurant now”, just a very abrupt and cold comment shouted across at us. What made it particularly uncomfortable was that there hadn’t been any of the usual indication that the dine-in area was closing, such as staff beginning to clear the surrounding tables, which would naturally have prompted us to get going. Had someone simply come over and politely let us know they needed to close the seating area, we would have had absolutely no problem leaving. It was a shame because I’ve always really liked this place and have considered it worth travelling from Cambridge for. Hopefully this was just an off night, but the way we were spoken to really took the shine off what is normally somewhere I enjoy coming to.
