Service was terrible, we were forgotten about between starter and main. We were comped drinks as an apology but nonetheless service was very poor. Starter came with a very meagre side of bread. Food wasn't great, always seems to be a missing ingredient that's replaced with something looking similar e.g. spinach for wild garlic. Food didn't taste super fresh and presentation was off on a couple of dishes. Staff were friendly, polite and apologetic.

Three years ago I was friends with a Prezzo worker whom vowed that Zizzi's was... The Enemy. Today? Well, today I cast my prejudices aside and realised that sometimes? the enemy of your new enemy is in fact, your friend (who just so happens to be an Italian-style restaurant). Folks, my point is that Zizzi's accommodated for two new-comers (myself and Reuben) with not just gloriously yummy food, but also sterling service. This service came, more specifically, in the form of a man called Morgan. Who told us (and make it be known i'm not quoting directly here)... "Anybody who's anybody in Zizzi's has given up their beloved icloud data, and traded their usual aversion to interweb "cookies" for the chance to become... The Zillionare" Yeah of course guys it's just an app but do try and tap into your whimsical sides and delight in the FREE GARLIC BREAD they immediately cash in for you when said app is downloaded. Also it's not even like the sod-awful Hungry Horse style garlic bread, its soft and fluffy and made with dough (holy woah, pardon the rhyme). Of course, Reuben and myself opted for carbonara cos we're classy af, and Morgan was of course there to assist in our cheese needs (second rhyme of the day, gng) by providing ungodly amounts of parmesan (phenomenal). Also guys, just to be serious here, my Dietary Requirements were also met perfectly; even though it was not an allergen, my distaste for pepper was noted down, and the carbonara was beautifully edible as a result. Reuben for some unbeknown reason decided to drown his pasta in chilli-infused olive-oil and "a metric f***-ton of pepper" before deciding he would "leave a complaint" because the food became a complete and total right off. Hence why it is I now writing the review and not he. For dessert we split a honeycomb cheesecake and when our friend Owen turned up completely out of the blue, Morgan- and, by extension Zizzi's- were more than happy to provide complementary little shots of Hot Chocolate to not just Reuben and I but also our new third-wheel. None of which I consumed (said shots could be found in Reuben's greedy little belly) but he attests that they were yummy. Genuinely guys, we hopped into Zizzi's because it was the cheapest thing in the non-povvo & non-fun hub for Bristol's Trust Fund Children (Clifton) and we left having had a really delightful dinner at a place we felt quite welcomed in. I don't know where Zizzi's (chain of Italian-inspired restaurants in the United Kingdom and Ireland based in London, England and winner of the 2012 Lausanne Index Novel Product of the Year Prize) obtain such model employees, and I certainly don't know how they fashion such light and airy morsels as the welcome crisps we were served, but I do know where they found two returning customers- in their absolutely classic Clifton Casa. Thanks to the hospo warriors, much appreciated. The Caravan Girl
