We shop at this local Tesco about three times a week and have done so for the past ten years. It is a crucial part of our local community. We've seen it undergo significant changes and challenges, and wanted to acknowledge how hard the staff work there. No matter the day or time, the staff work flat out to stock the shelves. It feels as if the manager is always there, setting up new promotions, sorting deliveries, or helping staff stock their shelves. We're mindful that the staff face significant challenges, as people outside the shop [over which they have no control] can exhibit antisocial behaviour. They also encounter unpleasant behaviour in the shop from people intent on stealing. Despite these challenges, we are always greeted with a smile or a hello, or offered help if we can't find something. We think this type of retail work is the most challenging. They are always 'on show', work very long hours, receive little recognition for their efforts, and only get feedback when something goes wrong, even though the store runs exceptionally well all the time. Please pass on our thanks to the staff for the incredible [often invisible and underappreciated] work they do every day, which supports and sustains the local community in which we live.

I'm giving you zero stars for absolutely no effort with unnecessary packaging. When your practice changes, contact me for a change of rating. The quicker you change, the higher the rating. I wish I could give you minus points. You've known all this for decades There are two reasons you must sell loose veg and dried goods and turn the tide of single use nonsense. 1. Earth is on 🔥🌎🔥 we need to cut packaging out. Now. 2. We need Fair trade for all customers: When you sell things in packs instead of loose or by the kilo, you disadvantage anyone single, isolated, on benefits, low waged, in a hurry, managing a circular economic plan. It's simply not fair to give discounts only to people for buying extra. 3. It encourages waste food. 35% of greenhouse gas is from waste food. Your shelf stacker/manager didn't understand why I asked him to pass on my request. This is why it's so important. #COP26 isn't just about politics. We can all do stuff. Tesco can. Just do it.
