About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I would like to leave some very positive feedback about a member of staff called Rosanna at the Greggs store in Bristol today. Rosanna was working on her own and had to close the store due to staffing issues. As I arrived, I was rushing because I was about to board a train to London and then continue on to Brentwood in Essex. I hadn’t eaten all day and was extremely hungry. Even though she was clearly under pressure and preparing to close, Rosanna noticed me trying to get in and kindly let me in so I could get some food for my journey. She said she didn’t want me travelling all that way without anything to eat, which I thought was incredibly thoughtful. Despite being understandably a little stressed from working alone, she was still warm, friendly, and kind. We even had a bit of a laugh together while she helped me. It was genuinely some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. Rosanna went above and beyond, showing real care and compassion. Staff like her are a credit to Greggs, and she absolutely deserves recognition — and in my opinion, a raise! Thank you Rosanna for your kindness and for going the extra mile. It really made a difference to my journey 😊

Not particularly inviting and staff inattentive. Picked up some wedges and by the time I had paid for them realised they were almost cold. Pointed this out to the counter staff who stuck his finger into the container to check🤷‍♀️I chose another pack but these weren’t much better. On reflection I should have just asked for a refund.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
