  Lovely Sunday carvery from Chef Reagan. Mum and Dad enjoyed your roast dinner. Lots of friendly stafff in the restaurant making a cheery happy atmosphere we had a great time. Thank you team Gordano Gate. 😀

  Generally excellent - the best in Portishead. Only one snag - the plates are not clean. They still have food fragments on them. They need to fix their dishwashing machine.

  We went here today for Sunday lunch, and was served by a lady called kirstie she was so lovley and helpful, i couldn't get my bluelight to work and she was so patient and helpful and sorted it for me she really took her time and nothing was ti much trouble, lunch was good just what we needed.

  Came today for about 3rd time family meal of 5 and it was crap x 5. Booked meal, took 20 to 30 min + to turn up, burgers and 2 smouthered mixed grills. Burgers and grills hot in bits but cold in others. Steak on the grills even the dog had a thought about it later, and 2 inch square?? Smaller just than a burger and uneatable, no wonder they hide it under a fried egg!!No staff member came back to check, now we know why. Its still a family thing so ordered puddings, but my choc fudge cake was all choc source and the thinnest smallest bit of fudfe cake for £6 I have EVER seen. Took it back and got my £6 back. This is not right, has been much better on previous visits ,even sat outside but today was upsetting and embarrasing to spend £120+ and feel totally cheated. What has happened, tables not ready, fetch your own knives and forks, sauces, vinegar, staff just dumped meals and ran off ,no customer service at all. The lady behind the bar just refunded the fudge cake then ssid you can have it cas it will only be thrown away??? Nice enough but is that Customer Service??? I declined. Yea today was a big dissapointment, other visits over the years have been much better hence our return. Its roughly in the middle of us from Plymouth and sons family in Leicester,but we will have a rethink.Standards have really slipped.

  I haven’t given 5 stars for food as a person with coeliac disease your choices are limited. We ate for an evening meal and breakfast the following morning. Both times the food was lovely and I felt confident that my food was prepared with care and they understood my needs. Breakfast is limited as you don’t get any pastries etc. Cooked breakfast is made separately for you in the kitchen. Would I eat here again, yes I would. The staff on both occasions were attentive and lovely. I ate with my family there were 6 of us. The rest of the party’s food was lovely too.
