  I ​am very disappointed by the treatment of my 88-year-old grandmother at this store on Monday, March 9th (around 12:30 p.m.). ​While at the checkout, she began to feel very unwell, experiencing a dizzy spell brought on by an overactive thyroid. When she politely asked the two male staff members for help packing her bags, they were dismissive and bluntly told her, “We don’t pack bags, pack it yourself.” ​Their refusal to help caused her significant embarrassment as she felt she was holding up the queue whilst physically struggling. It was only thanks to a kind delivery driver, who recognised her distress and helped her to a seat outside, that she was able to recover safely. ​Going out can already be daunting for someone her age, and this unkind experience has really impacted her confidence. I hope management reminds their team that a little empathy for elderly or unwell customers goes a long way.

  A lifeline for Saltdean as there's a supermarket desert in the area otherwise. The plus sides are the members prices and 2x weekly deals you can select if you download the app, can't fault 20-50p off milk! On the other hand Co-op tries to squeeze too much in too small a space. Cages of produce frequently block the shelves, and at busy times queues can snake around the store making it tricky. Also the perspex blocking access to spirits extends to block bottles of wine, it's almost like the store is trying to frustrate your shopping experience in many ways. I've mostly found the service from staff great, it must be annoying to work there at times. Adding to that there's often stock shortages, but that's more of a UK-wide issue these days that can't be pinned on the store.

  I bought a box of easy peelers a couple of days ago and found some of them with black spots inside them like if they had been there for years. This is not the first time that I buy food which is old or just in date

  The store regularly allow chuggers to stop you on the way out. They cause an obstruction as it’s a small entrance and can be very direct even commenting on what food you’ve bought. They want you to set up a direct debit and get commission for each one so the money does not all go to the charity.
