  The small lunch portions were perfect for us, and the pickled onions and gerkins excellent. Perfectly cooked fish & chips; always best to find a restaurant away from the beach!

  I used to absolutely love coming to Bankers Fish and Chips in Brighton. In my opinion, it was once one of the best fish and chip restaurants in the UK. The fish was always fresh, beautifully flaky, silky and full of moisture. The chips were excellent — whether they were double-cooked or simply prepared perfectly, they were always delicious. Sadly, I feel that the quality has gone downhill dramatically. I was extremely disappointed on my recent visit. The fish was dry, the batter was no longer light and crispy, and it gave the impression that the fish was frozen rather than the fresh quality I remembered. The chips were also below average. It is such a shame to see a place with such a great reputation lose what made it special. A restaurant like this is built on quality and consistency, and if things continue in this direction, they risk losing many loyal customers. Sadly, after many years of enjoying this place, I won’t be returning. It’s a real disappointment to see something that was once exceptional decline so much.

  Nice fresh fish, crispy batter. Taste was okay, wasn't a fan on the sauce. The medium fish and chips was plenty, you can always get a chips refill if you want more. Fish isn't beer battered.

  Terrible Customer Service by two strange waiting staff. One of them was a guy with a massive earring and the other was an older woman in her 60s, wearing glasses who stared at us from the moment we arrived to the moment we left as if she’d never seen humans before. The food was smelly and old. It took us half an hour to be served. The two waiting staff would stand in a corner, staring at customers and laughing at them and most shocking, I found hair in my curry sauce and chips which made me vomit shortly after. This was a terrible experience, please do yourselves a favour and go elsewhere and enjoy your meal somewhere else. And lastly, the food was highly priced for the size. There are other better quality fish and chips restaurants in Brighton that are cheaper.
