  Oh my - I just saw this business has a 1 STAR FOR FOOD HYGIENE RATING - This was not displayed on the door! I feel sick after eating here! This is a genuine and honest review of the food. Have driven past this cafe for many years and never gone in until Saturday - Biggest driver for us was promotion of ORGANIC COFFEE - But what a let down. Ordered two Full English Breakfast with coffee. Food came out cold, wet and raw. Large portion, but we couldn't eat it due to RAW MUSHROOMS (not washed or cooked - weird), TOMATOES (RAW / NOT COOKED AT ALL), 1 x SAUSAGE on plate (PINK INSIDE - NOT COOKED PROPERLY - even though chef had cut them in half), HASH BROWN (Soggy and not cooked properly), TOAST (PART OF BREAD WAS NOT TOASTED), BEANS (cold), EGGS (odd texture - not fried, not poached - we have no idea how eggs were cooked - maybe microwave OR pre poached eggs purchased via foodservice provider), Bacon was OK - They got something right. But the remainder of breakfast was not up to any basic standard you would want. I know my food and worked in foodservice. Whoever is cooking the food needs lessons on HOW TO COOK and present food at a safe temperature and how to cook a FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST. Mushrooms and tomatoes are not served raw with a Full English breakfast! Food should and needs to be hot when served. I believe the food had been sitting for a while and then served to us. My biggest fear is Health and Hygiene behind the scenes - The areas you don't get to see when a place is preparing food. Also sausage rolls on display looked uncooked - very pale / white pastry - They required longer in the oven before serving cold to customers. Buck you ideas up - If you want to run a foodservice operation - Learn how to cook the food and present in a safe way! Just Lazy.

  We visited here last year and had a generally good experience so not sure what's changed in that time. We were extremely disappointed with our visit today and won't be returning. The food was honestly some of the worst we've been served. Simple dishes like poached eggs on toast and a tuna jacket potato should be impossible to get so wrong. The food arrived within minutes, which immediately suggested it hadn't been freshly prepared. The restaurant advertised gluten-free bread, but when we were told there wasn't any available, I opted for brown toast instead. What arrived was white bread that was barely toasted, with the plate literally swimming in water. The poached eggs were equally poor. The tuna jacket potato was mostly mayonnaise with very little tuna, and instead of a proper side salad it came with nothing more than lettuce leaves. To make matters worse, the water glasses were dirty, which completely put us off. The overall cleanliness of the establishment was poor too, with cobwebs clearly visible. The customer service was just as disappointing as the food. Nobody came to ask if everything was okay, and as we left we were completely ignored. A simple goodbye or thank you would have gone a long way. Overall, it was an awful experience from start to finish. Poor food, poor hygiene, and poor customer service. We certainly won't be returning and wouldn't recommend it to others.

  I loved the coffeeel and tea cake I had. Very good service and lots of little alcoves in this place make it unique.
