Ordered edamame beans, pork belly raven and beef brisket teriyaki.
Beans were fine, we had salted. One lucky bean appeared to have been the recipient of all the naughty salt, the others were left out and and looked forelorn and jealous...or overcooked in places. food was poor quality ingredients. Ramen noodles were like chewy pot noodle in texture and flavour, pork belly had barely any meat in. Big plastic packs of noodles were visible stacked up in the kitchen next a cooker. Wonder how long they had been out for?
Beef brisket looked and tasted like some animal has chewed a piece of meat and spat it back out. Pretty flavourless.
The A Board outside says Fresh Flavours, kinda false advertising. And for the prices they charge, a pretty awful experience. Won't be back.
Stopped here after a long, exhausting drive and was delighted to be served by Izzy. She greeted us enthusiastically and made great conversation throughout our meal. We noticed she was very busy but still took the time and effort to make sure we were well looked after. We asked for special modifications of our food, which unfortunately came out wrong, and she was very apologetic and fixed the mistake. The restaurant was quite full and we noticed she was the only one on the floor which unfortunately led to delays, however we cannot put the blame on her.
Overall she made this a wonderful experience, and a great stop :)

We stopped at Wagamama at Beaconsfield Services for dinner, and unfortunately, after being seated straight away, everything went downhill.
Within minutes, our waiter came over and asked if we wanted drinks, which was fine. We ordered our drinks, and almost immediately he asked what we wanted to eat. We hadn’t even had a chance to look at the menu, so we asked for a couple of minutes.
After looking through the menu, we eventually had to call him over to take our order. He had been walking past our table repeatedly but didn’t seem particularly interested in serving us. The overall attitude and customer service from the start were extremely poor.
The drinks were another issue. My partner ordered a Diet Coke and a still water. The Diet Coke arrived, but the water didn’t. We had to ask three times before it finally arrived — and we were sitting right next to the bar, so it’s not as though it was difficult to get.
Then came the food. We understand how Wagamama operates, with dishes coming out as soon as they’re ready rather than everyone necessarily receiving their food together. That’s absolutely fine.
However, my main arrived and my partner received her food, but my starter never arrived at all. We kept waiting while watching other tables receive their food. Eventually, we realised it simply wasn’t coming.
While we were eating, the waiter also repeatedly came over and started replenishing cutlery and other items right next to me while I was trying to eat. Surely these things can be done when the table is clear rather than reaching across and around someone who is eating.
Then came the final issue. When we asked for the bill, my starter was still listed on it. I explained that I hadn’t received it. The response was essentially, “Are you sure?”
Yes — I’m absolutely sure. My partner had both a main plate and a starter plate. I had a main plate and no starter plate whatsoever. It should have been fairly obvious.
The waiter then went to ask the kitchen whether the starter had been made. Surely this should have been identifiable from the order system, particularly as Wagamama’s orders are clearly tracked at the table. In any event, the starter never arrived, so we asked for it to be removed from the bill. Eventually, after more huffing and puffing, it was taken off.
We’ve eaten at Wagamama restaurants in other locations and have generally found the service to be good, so this isn’t a criticism of Wagamama as a whole. The Beaconsfield Services branch, however, was a completely different experience.
Poor attitude, poor communication, forgotten items, an incorrect bill and a general lack of attention to customers.
There is a noodle restaurant directly opposite Wagamama at the services. If you’re looking for noodles, I’d seriously consider going there instead.
I would avoid Wagamama at Beaconsfield Services.
⭐ 0/5 from us
Don’t bother going to this Wagamama’s, we waited roughly 20mins for a table for 2, with the whole of the upstairs not being used. Once we sat down one of the waiters/waitresses handed us a menu and went down the other end of the restaurants. Another 20 mins went by no one even came remotely close to our table to ask for even any drinks or anything. A couple next to when we decided to walk out even said that’s a great shout, as their food took around an hour to come out and when it did it was cold and undercooked. In all my experiences in not just a Wagamama but any restaurant for that matter, I’ve never seen so many waiters/waitresses walked around with faces like slapped asses and such poor customer service. The front of the house barely even spoke and just seemed like he didn’t want to be there, Wagamamas or the ritz standard customer service is expected. We ended up going to the High Wycombe Wagamamas as we knew it wasn’t a case of all of them being the same. 10 times better service and food there. Whoever the manager or whatever there is, needs to sort it out.
Extremely disappointing experience
Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had at a Wagamama’s. The wait for the food was ridiculous, and when it finally arrived, a lot of it was barely edible. For the price, you’d expect a reasonable standard, but the food was nowhere near it.
What made things even worse was the service. Staff came across as rude and completely uninterested, despite multiple customers around us clearly complaining about the same issues. We also saw numerous wrong orders coming out, with food being left sitting on the side for ages before anyone seemed to do anything about it.
The whole place just seemed completely disorganised and overwhelmed. When several tables are complaining, orders are repeatedly coming out wrong, and food is sitting around getting cold, something clearly isn’t right.
Overall, a thoroughly disappointing experience from start to finish. The long wait, poor-quality food, wrong orders and attitude of the staff made it an evening I certainly wouldn’t want to repeat.
Definitely somewhere I will be telling people to avoid!
