Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
Very disappointing customer service. A staff member who I believe is named Jacob, who had dreds, was rude, blunt, dismissive, and repeatedly called me “bro,” which felt very unprofessional. Another staff member, Robert, who appeared to be a supervisor stood by without offering any assistance.
Overall, a shocking, frustrating and upsetting experience. Staff at this branch could definitely benefit from better customer service training. Would rather take my business elsewhere.

I witnessed a member of staff (I believe his name was George) sneeze several times and fail to wash his hands before handling food. I will never return here if this is the sort of hygiene they practice! Absolutely disguting. If covid comes back we know where it started.

Staff are so oblivious of their responsibilities that they would rather clean a coffee machine or sweep the floor than serve customers, never any warm food and just overall a worse experience than anything else in the world.

Went to grab a morning coffee. Staff seem to have no grasp of customer service. I was greeted by a nod of the head then the guy smiled at me and walked away, he started restocking selves while his colleague was making sandwiches at the back. Waited 10 mins to be seen as it seems the shop prioritises Delivery orders than actual foot traffic in the shop. Never going to greggs again. I'd rather go to Wenzels, pay a little extra but actually get served for my morning coffee

Katie the shift manger is the BEST she’s always so helpful and friendly! Sometimes the lemonade tastes like toothpaste but I know it’s not because of her lemonade making skills.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
