  Visited on a Monday night as saw an advert stating the following on their website 'The start of the week has just got better here with us. We’re offering our perfectly cooked steak frites & garlic butter for £15 every Monday.' We got there and were given menus but no mention of the £15 steak frites, which had been the reason my son and husband chose this particular venue. Apparently they don't do it any more, even though its advertised. After our waiter went to speak to the kitchen staff he said they could do a rump steak from the lunch menu for the same price which they ordered. The bar snacks were listed on the back of the drinks menu and, being vegetarian, I thought I would order the tempura vegetables (also listed on their website) as a starter. Again, the bar snacks have not been available for some time. No substitute was offered. The food, when it arrived, was well cooked, well presented and tasty. However, there was an excessive wait for our mains which meant we didn't have time to stay for dessert. Additionally they forgot to cook/bring our side order of broccoli. We were sat in the restaurant part of the pub, which comprised of around 6 tables, all of which were empty the entire time we were there so I am assuming the kitchen was not busy. Not in a hurry to return which is a shame as we are new to the area and are trying out our local venues.

  Food was delicious and service was quick had a great Sunday lunch with my family. Eva and Elizabeth were very friendly on the bar and Alex brought the food out very efficiently. Overall a great experience would definitely come again.

  Came in for Sunday lunch with my family. Food was amazing we sat out the front to watch the cricket service was quick from jasmine and the bar staff were lovely and friendly

  This is a favourite pub of ours, and we have been visiting it for more years than I care to remember. It is the ONLY pub/restaurant where my husband will order a Sunday Roast. We have celebrated birthdays, held and attended wakes, had pre-wedding drinks, lunches, evening meals, and popped in for a "quick one". I would recommend booking a table if you wish to eat as it is very popular, especially at the weekends, which should tell you all you need to know! The menu changes with the season. Well behaved dogs, children and adults are welcome. There is a gated rear garden and during the summer you can sit in the front garden and watch the cricket being played on the green opposite. You can even purchase treats for your four-legged friend. There is a selection of board/card games available. Due to the age and listed status of the building it is not ideal for those with mobility problems (steps, standard size toilets) and certainly not suitable for wheelchairs.

  arrived at 7.45-7.50pm at location,first thing i ordered a 10oz steak and a pint,after +50min received my order with loads of excuses and a pint of beer for the delay,but the main issue wasn't just the wait time for the food,it was the steak,instead of the 10oz steak i got the 8oz fillets steak..never again
