Good selection for a small store but customer service is non existent. Waited a while at the till to pay until having to go searching for a staff member, who suggested i use self service rather than actually serve themselves. I then had to ask again for a bag as none available at self service, and when suggesting they should top uo the bags i was advised they were not allowed!
To top it off, there was an error on the printer and couldnt print my receipt, which i required, so they had to attend the till anyway.
Not sure if its poor management direction or utter laziness, but from a customers perspective, very poor service!

Would be no stars. No staff. Waited by the checkout while the only visible member of staff sorted out an order for a courier. Was told "just be patient". Why do they prioritise deliveries over people who actually go to the shop? Won't be going there again.

On the 18/02/2017 shopped here to get a few bits came to the self service tills and put my food through it to then find that I was unable to pay via my phone with my Android Pay the woman who was blonde and incredibly unwilling to help told me to use my card I told her I do not carry the card on me and keep it at home because I feel safer that way and was then told that the android pay was not working.
The idiot then acted as if that was my fault and I was made to feel like a right lemon because I was unable to pay. I left at that point and have called the customer service line for Tesco same evening. When they have no credit card access they put signs up they should have done the same with the lack of not being able to pay for things via phone as well if this had been in place I would have shopped elsewhere instead but the lazy unmotivated feckless blonde bimbo behind the tills clearly did not care and expected me to produce another method of payment instead I left at this point and later on went to another store (not Tesco not ever shopping in there again) to get my food.
All in all people AVOID this shop and the muppets who are running it as staff they seem to lack any interest of making people aware of issues with the self service tills.
On the 25/2/2017 used the store again this time because I had hoped that the attitude displayed towards me was not going to repeat itself this was not the case I had been to Little Waitrose at the the top of the hill and bought some of my food there a lot of it was not stuff that is sold in this Tesco the reason in a moment will be come apparent as to why I am now complaining again. I came to the till with my other shopping in a trolly and waited to be served on approaching the till a lady with dark hair and glasses glanced over at my trolly with other shopping in it and made an accusing look at me of assuming I had loaded my other bags with stuff from their shop I was disgusted and made my feelings clear to her this was not the case I am a clean living person who in the 36 years of my life has never had any serious infractions with the law.
She attempted to accuse me of theft and I slammed the receipt from Waitrose down on the till and told her to look at the date and time of purchase which was around 10-20 minutes before coming into her shop the woman still persisted with having an attitude I gave a earful back about her lack of manners and her holy out of order way in which she out right accused me of doing something suspect in the shop.
Given I had walked in with the bags full and had made sure not to let anything get into them in the trolly to be then confronted with this arrogant woman was the limit. I have had to call them again yesterday to inform them of yet another incident of customer service or lack of it by them. Tesco Express in Amersham is really one to avoid using. Do not go there the staff are rude assumptive and presume to assume you are a criminal of some kind if you bring in your shopping from another super market. 3/4's of what I bought from Waitrose they do NOT sell.
This is a bad store and one that is in sore need of better more competent staff AVOID at all costs.
**Update 03/02/2024**
On this date the till systems for contactless were down and no notice on the window no one told me when I had entered went around to get a few bits and then get told you need a card so had to leave my shopping come back home get card and then go back to buy it.
The feckless useless woman on the till wonders why I am annoyed and then was temperamental when I returned to get it with the card what they should have done was put a bloody sign-up in the window saying the till system was down and contactless was offline not expect customers who it would seem a high percentage do not carry cards these days are not going to be happy when they get to the till and find this out.
Seriously Tesco, how bloody hard is it to put a sign-up in a windows informing people. Huge incontinence. And really, really unhelpful.

Would normally have given Tesco anywhere at least a 4, however my experience this time was spoiled by a supervisor on the self check out; long blonde wavy hair, mid fifties female who when asked to assist with identifying the bar code on a pack of baby trousers for my grandson treated me like a halfwit. I have never been so patronised: ' well it's on the inside of the trousers, you see here it is! ' delivered in a tone reserved for demented centenarians and that would still be no excuse. For her information I am in my 60s and a manager by profession. I am not in the habit of undoing clips and packaging in supermarkets to find bar codes. This person needs more training in customer service and engagement or should be banished to the warehouse. I am sorry I forgot to look at her name tag but I was so astonished by her attitude to my problem!
