  ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5 – small shop, big drama, essential life support) Co-op Food Slade Road is basically my “I’ve run out of everything and life is collapsing” emergency centre. Let’s start with the facts: Parking? Not great. More like a carefully designed test of patience and spatial awareness. You go in thinking “I’ll just pop in”… and come out spiritually changed after circling like you’re auditioning for a space in a nature documentary. The cash machine situation… Let’s just say I once entered as a customer and left feeling like I’d been lightly emotionally mugged by technology. It either works, doesn’t work, or takes your card on a little adventure of its own. You just stand there like: “Cool. That’s fine. I didn’t need that card anyway.” But honestly — the staff? Lovely. Genuinely lovely. The kind of friendly that makes you forget you’ve just had a minor breakdown over whether you need milk or not. The shop itself is small but dangerously useful. It’s got that: “I saved your life at 10pm” energy “I got you through a hangover Sunday” reputation “You forgot your husband’s donuts again didn’t you” reliability And yes… guilty… I regularly go in for “just one thing” and leave with donuts, treats, and absolutely no memory of self-control. My husband benefits from this chaos though, so technically it’s a community service. Online reviews basically echo the same thing: Handy local store Friendly staff Parking = stress test Lifesaver outside normal hours Which translates to: “Small shop, big personality, occasional emotional damage from parking and card machines.” Overall vibe: 🛒 “Tiny shop. Massive impact on your daily survival and financial discipline.” Final verdict: It’s not perfect, it’s not glamorous, but it’s absolutely essential — like a slightly chaotic local hero in retail form. Would I go again? Yes. Would I park confidently? Absolutely not 😄
