Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I visited this Greggs in Shard End Ownall rd on 10/02/2026, I was being served by a young lady who was mid serving me with my items still on the till didn’t bother to ask me if i wanted a bag she just walked off. I hadn’t even paid yet she just left me waiting there without saying anything i honestly think this is appalling i posted about this on facebook when a lot of other people reached out to me saying this isn’t the first time this has happened and they’ve stopped coming to this branch for this reason! One man even reached out to me and said he came a few weeks ago and which im assuming is the same lady looked at the clock and told him shes not serving him as her shift is over and walked off with a queue out the door mind you it was 12:25…. Something seriously needs to be done as this is just unacceptable how do you plan on running a business when you don’t wish to serve customers and don't wish to be there! Saying hi to me as ur rolling your eyes don't make you seem polite!

HORRIBLE was served by a young lady 20/01/25 between 8:30 am and 9am I had a order of 3 pastries which all 3 she got wrong and when I got home and checked all 3 had to go straight in the bin !!!! Waste of money never coming again I come every other day but it wasn’t just that she just seemed to talk to me like she couldn’t be asked the older ladies are so much more polite I’m sorry but customer has been lost unfortunately mostly due to attitude and the waste of money on my part there was no way for me to come back that day as my childcare had gone to work

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
