I missed it because I have severe insomnia, and I was trying to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible. This high street already overstimulates me on top of the insomnia, and they usually don’t even have a sign up, so I just acted accordingly. I’m guessing she’s another person who assumes my life is perfect just because I’m young, and assumed I was wilfully ignoring what the sign said. This isn’t the first time that sour-faced Karen has been rude to me, and it will be the last time I go into that branch. She was lucky I didn’t confront her at the time, but I wasn’t going to let her make me behave unladylike—just because squaring up to her is probably the only way she’d respect someone.
