Approached the counter and started asking if they had any corned beef bakes, before I had even said “do you have” the older member of staff was shaking her head vigorously. I chose another item which was slammed on the counter. Member of staff (presume supervisor) who was serving me started barking orders at the 2 younger staff (who were both doing something and not just standing around) to do a task telling them she was busy serving all the customers (there was me and one other lady in the shop). No professionalism from the older member of staff and left feeling awkward and sorry for the two younger staff members.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
