  My favourite tesco store. It has everything I want. Helpful staff. Clean store. Always has parking. Loyal customer of this branch for 10 years.

  Absolutely shocking customer service at Tesco Hodge Hill. My experience with the service today was genuinely diabolical. The staff showed very little care, respect or basic customer service, leaving me extremely disappointed. Customers should not feel like they are an inconvenience. The attitude and lack of professionalism I experienced were unacceptable. It honestly makes you question how management has allowed customer service to reach this level. My advice: support your local independent shops. You often get far more respect, care and a personal level of service from people who genuinely value their customers. Tesco Hodge Hill — this needs serious attention from management. Customers deserve better.

  I do enjoy going to this branch but Shazan butchers let's it down. Staff have zero customer service skills and kept me waiting fir an order than never materialised. Some staff members in Tesco can be rude and some white people deliberately target asian shoppers in queues as they give way to alot of the elderly and middle aged people who could just use the self service.

  Average rating for an average store, see positives and negatives below: Positives: - Lots of variety of foods and drinks including bakery and "World Foods" section. - Clothes section - Automotive section - Mobile phone section - Items for the house e.g cutlery, towels, decorations. - Money exchange - Birthday Cards/ Cards for special occasions. - Big car park (with free parking within a time limit) - Opticians - Car wash facilities Negatives: - Have previously bought items that were expired/rotten, realised when got home (most recently it was Tesco's own brand microwave Pilau Rice which I assume had fermented and had turned into a brown and smelly liquid). - Neighbouring children's football team is allowed to use car park which is fine but really clogs up the car park causing lots of traffic in and out when parents are picking up their children. - Trolleys require £1 coin so remember to always have one on you. - Escalator/Travelators often broken and take a long time to repair. - Freezers often broken and take a long time to repair. - Freezers often empty (even when they're working). - As with most supermarkets, they don't want to pay employees so have mostly self service checkouts which are slow and riddled with issues (often not recognising items, leading to delays). The existing few tills with actual staff therefore have very long lines. - The toilets are filthy/smelly and have a very dark blue lighting to deter drug usage (probably also hides the filth, but you can't really see what you're doing or if what you're touching is clean). - Doors on most fridges create tight spaces and bottlenecks in narrower aisles.
