About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Greggs is usually our go to place when out with the kids. We were looking forward to a relaxing visit while my wife did some shopping, but unfortunately our experience at this branch was very disappointing. Our children, being curious kids, accidentally wandered into an enclosed area and sat down. A staff member named Fred immediately started shouting at them. We completely understand that customers should not have been in that area, but there was no need to speak to young children in such a rude and intimidating manner. When we explained that the situation could have been handled more politely, the response did little to improve the experience. The interaction left our children upset and shaken. This behaviour was not what we would expect from Greggs, where staff are usually friendly and welcoming. A little courtesy and understanding, especially when dealing with children, would have gone a long way. Sadly, this experience will make us think twice before visiting this branch again.

Yesterday morning came to this greggs inside primark to have my breakfast and i asked for a straw from a indian guy who works there. And he refused me to give the straw. As a regular customer this is the first time i had experience like this. He said me , “you should buy something before asking a straw” . So before buying something ,can’t i ask for a straw? Is this the way you are treating your regular customer greggs? I am also working in customer service for more than 3 yrs and i never do like this to customers. Very bad customer service from that guy (who has beard and skinny guy). Because i was disappointed, I went outside greggs and had my breakfast from them. Luckily that store gave me a straw before i order. How people forget their humanity over a straw. Disgusting 🤢plz teach him how to do good customer service. I will never come to this store to eat again.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
