We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.

From the moment I walked in, Jacob was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly — making the whole experience a pleasure. He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my order and did so with a great attitude and a smile. It’s rare to come across someone who takes such obvious pride in their work, and Jacob is a real credit to the Greggs team. I’ll definitely be returning, and I hope Jacob gets the recognition he deserves. Keep up the fantastic work!

Then I asked for hot water and the girl behind the counter with a scarf had to go ask her manager if she can give me hot water. And the manager said no!! Greggs is a joke ! Especially this one !! Never again

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
