We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.
Whether you’re into a hot sandwich, a pasta salad, some delicious chicken goujons or a fresh cold sandwich – our meal deals are doing the most in a mouth-watering way. The local manager needs to step up or start looking for a job he can do. I'm only giving 1 star if I there was a option for 0 it would be.

As you can see in the picture, the croissant looks cooked on the outside, but the inside is completely raw – wet, doughy, and chewy. This isn’t the first time either; it’s the second time I’ve had the same issue. On top of that, the service is just as poor. The girl who works in the mornings always looks miserable and like she doesn’t even want to be there. No smile, no friendliness, nothing. This is by far the worst Greggs branch I’ve ever visited. Uncooked food, terrible service, and a completely unpleasant experience. I won’t be returning.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
