Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
At around 11am Saturday 3rd of october at the tills. Younger Asian female member of staff talking to her friend instead of taking our order (don't mind some chatting but this was different she was being super ignorant) took one of the managers to come by and angrily tell her to serve us to which the member of staff behind the till said yes and started our order for a second before instantly turning back to her friend when the manager left and restarted her convo for a further 30 seconds to a minute before I had to interrupt her and tell her what I wanted. Which I needed to repete twice because they were loudly talking over me acting like we are being the rude ones interrupting their conversation. once she grabbed the items they yet again went back to talking to which I then said loudly and a little angrily said "card please" to which she finally scanned both items (never told us how much the items were) and I took my items and left in a huff. Worst most ignorant employed person I've had the pleasure of meeting.

Ordered a too good to go bag from them, which had to be collected by 18:30. I arrived at 18:00 to find the shop shut up. Staff were in because the lights were on in the back and the store sign and Google say open until 18:30. However, no one answered when I knocked and rung the store multiple times. Staff in store when I've been in before have been very unprofessional and rude.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
